Shanghai Disneyland Must-Dos!

The newest of the Disney Parks, Shanghai Disneyland opened on June 16th of 2016. Since it was February 2017 when we ventured to Shanghai, we were beside ourselves with excitement to be able to visit the park that wasn't even a year old. With so many staple attractions and so many brand new Disney additions, it was tricky to decide what to do and see in just one day at the park. That being said, we were pretty satisfied with how our day panned out! Read on to see our list of the four MUST DO attractions in Shanghai Disneyland!

1.) Camp Discovery Challenge Trail

Picture
This attraction was absolutely insane and unlike anything the domestic Disney Parks could ever imagine hosting. Strapped into a harness and tethered to a system of steel beams overhead, you'll navigate various obstacles set around a giant waterfall. You can decide which level is best for you at each of the obstacles by switching which track you are connected to. There are easy, intermediate, and advanced levels for each obstacle. The easy levels are very basic; a wooden footbridge with no tricks or gimmicks. The intermediate may be something like a rope bridge with a board or two missing. The advanced levels are no joke. Imagine rope bridges with most of the wooden boards missing, forcing you to walk along a single rope on its side. This attraction isn't for the faint of heart, as heights and tricky footing challenge your balance. This attraction will make you feel like Indiana Jones every step of the way!

2.)Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean attractions have always been one of my long time favorites. If you're a fan of the U.S. attractions, you'll freak over Battle for the Sunken Treasure. This attraction plunges you into a whole new depth of piracy. Keep your head on a swivel as you spot intricate details from the start of the queue all the way through the attraction. We hit up this attraction several times to really take in all of the exciting, swashbuckling moments.

3.) Tron Lightcycle Power Run

Picture
The visually spectacular Tron Lightcycle Power Run, now being built in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, is one of the most thrilling attractions in Shanghai Disneyland and definitely lands itself on the must-do list. Rocketing its lightcycles through the Grid at speeds up to 60 miles per hour, Tron is a heart pounding and unique adventure. Ride this attraction once during the day and once at night to get two very different experiences and stop by the outside of the building to admire the brilliant, color-changing, aesthetic of the attraction.

4.) Eye of the Storm: Captain Jack's Stunt Spectacular

Picture
This stunt show lands itself on the must do list for two reasons. First, to fully submerse yourself in the feeling that you are in a foreign Disney Park. None of this show is in English, so be prepared to only understand the physical comedy. Secondly, the finale of this show is absolutely insane. We won't spoil it for you here, but we're still reeling over it. Arrggh!
